One lesson I have learned throughout my career is that many movements eventually start believing that people exist to serve the organisation.
I disagree.
An organisation exists to serve people.
Not the other way around.
History is full of movements, institutions and causes that demanded loyalty, sacrifice and obedience from good people. Many left exhausted, disappointed or fundamentally damaged.
That is not what we are building here.
Before a person can extend a hand to another, that person must first learn how to stand properly on their own feet.
Before serving a community, one must develop character.
Before carrying responsibility for others, one must learn responsibility for oneself.
A healthy organisation does not consume people.
A healthy organisation helps people grow.
The sea is filled with the wrecks of once-proud ships. Many sank because they valued the mission more than the crew.
We prefer another approach.
We invest in people first.
From that foundation, communities grow naturally.
We are not looking for heroes.
We are not looking for martyrs.
We are not looking for followers.
We are looking for people who are willing to learn, improve, create and contribute.
People who understand that personal development is not selfish.
It is often the first requirement for being useful to others.
Character matters.
Quality matters.
Reliability matters.
A sense of humour helps too.

Most people associate corruption with envelopes under tables, favoritism, or special treatment for friends and associates.
Those things certainly exist.
Yet, in my experience, such behaviour is usually the end of the process rather than the beginning.
Long before financial corruption appears, something else often takes place.
People stop seeing one another as human beings and begin seeing one another as instruments.
A person becomes a voter.
A supporter.
A follower.
A resource.
A demographic.
A building block for somebody else’s vision of society.
Once people are reduced to instruments, the remaining forms of corruption often follow naturally.
Prof. Peter rejects that approach.
We are not interested in moulding people into a predefined social ideal.
We are interested in helping people develop character, judgement, competence and the confidence to think for themselves.
A healthy community is built by strong individuals.
Not individuals sacrificed for the benefit of a community.

Before carrying responsibility for others, one must learn responsibility for oneself.
History is littered with the wrecks of organisations, movements and institutions that placed their mission above their people.

Your Role
As an Ambassador you will:

The Ring Leader exists to help them succeed.
A Ring Leader is a working floor leader who actively participates in the creative process while helping others develop their talents and confidence. The position is not about authority. It is about responsibility.
A Ring Leader invites people to build together, learn together and grow together.
While remaining rooted in their own community, a Ring Leader is expected to look beyond the boundaries of their own village, city, region or culture. They help connect perspectives and encourage cooperation across communities.
What We Expect
A Ring Leader is expected to contribute in three areas:
Quality
Maintaining and encouraging high standards in the work produced by the Ring.
Quantity
Helping ensure projects move forward and that contributions are transformed into tangible outcomes.
Growth
Actively supporting the development of the participants within the Ring.
The objective is not merely to produce content.
The objective is to help people become better contributors, better thinkers and more capable human beings.
Supporting the Mission
From time to time, Ring Leaders may support Ambassadors in identifying local opportunities, opening dialogue with communities and helping organise events, workshops or other initiatives that bring the work of the Ring to a broader audience.
Ring Leaders help ensure that good work does not remain hidden in a drawer.
A Responsibility Towards People
Publication may be our aorta.
Articles may be our visible output.
But people remain the organs that keep the entire body alive.
For that reason, Ring Leaders are expected to pay attention to the wellbeing and development of the individuals within their Ring.
When participants encounter personal obstacles, challenges or circumstances that affect their ability to contribute, a Ring Leader is expected to raise concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
We do not believe in burning people out for the sake of production.
We believe in helping people grow so they can contribute in a sustainable manner.

A Ring Leader understands that while publications may be the visible result of our work, the true value of the organisation lies in the growth, character and development of the people who create them.

At this stage, we are still building and shaping the organisation behind Prof. Peter’s Paper Trails. As a result, we are currently unable to publish specific vacancies or role descriptions.

Over the course of my career, I have seen social movements rise, flourish, fragment and disappear. Most of them did not fail because of a lack of passion. They failed because they lost touch with reality.
Good intentions gradually became ideology. Communities became tribes. Purpose became identity.
We take a different approach.
Before extending a hand to others, one must first learn how to stand properly on one's own feet. Before supporting a community, one must develop character, judgement and responsibility.
We are not looking for followers. We are not looking for soldiers.
We are looking for Authors, Ambassadors and Ring Leaders who are willing to learn, contribute, grow and help others grow.
We value character over labels, conduct over identity, and contribution over demographics.
We respect you as much as we respect ourselves. No more. No less.
Application Process
Before We Begin
This first stage is about getting acquainted.
We are not asking for a full curriculum vitae, photographs, references, certificates or confidential information.
We simply want to learn who you are, where you come from, what motivates you and whether there is sufficient common ground to continue the conversation.
If both parties develop sufficient trust, a more formal process may be initiated later.
We normally respond within two working days and will propose a suitable time for an introductory conversation.
